Parental Involvement legislation from Scotland



The Parental Involvement Act (2006) makes provision for Parent Councils to play an active role in supporting parental involvement in the work and life of the school, while also giving parents opportunities to express their views on their child’s education and learning.

All parents who have a child attending a public school are automatically members of the parent forum for that school. The parent forum may be represented by a body known as a Parent Council.
